Men Jeans Trends 2010

Posted by Sara on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 , under | comments (0)

We all wear this comfortable farmers uniform but don’t really think much about the history of the men jeans. Covering men jeans trends 2010 we want to make a little reference to jeans history.

Most jeans are made from denim. Denim is a rugged cotton twill textile, in which the weft passes under two or more warp fibers.

Denim has been in American usage since the late eighteenth century. But the origin of the word in francais. A sturdy fabric called serge, originally made in Nîmes, France, by the Andre family. Originally called serge de Nîmes, the name was soon shortened to denim.

Denim was traditionally colored blue with indigo dye to make blue “jeans,” though “jean” then denoted a different, lighter cotton textile; the contemporary use of jean comes from the French word for Genoa, Italy (Gênes), where the first denim trousers were made.

So let us see how men jeans are going to change from german-jewish merchant Levi Strauss’s classical jeans.

The main men jeans tendencies are influenced by the style “woodcutter“ - men jeans are tight to the bottom, well fitted. In 2010 chafes and holes will rest on men jeans in many designers collections, plus undercut fimbria and mud imitation. Decorated zipper becomes bigger, sometimes steps of the fly to the undercut, Dior Homme. Sub-recesses on the contrary lose the ground and appear only in two men jeans models collection – Dsquared2, Balmain.

Men jeans color intension varies from light blue to deep blue and black in 2010 trends.

New Season Clothing Collection

Pretty Green - New Season Clothing Collection
HOT NEW LABEL : PRETTY GREEN

Celebrities and their fashion labels = my biggest pet hate of the moment! Putting your name on t-shirt surely doesn’t make you a designer? Nor does it mean that the product is any good or instantly classed as ‘high-end’? What the hell is going on?! Well, imagine my horror when back in spring 2009 I heard that Liam Gallagher of Oasis was releasing a collection from his new fashion label Pretty Green. Shock and disappointment is all I felt on the matter. Had the straight talking front man from arguably the best British band EVER sold himself out? Fast forward to just the 3rd collection from Pretty Green and to this wonderful quote from the man himself “Clothes and music are my passion. I’m not here to rip anyone off and I’m not doing it for the money either. I’m doing it cuz there’s a lack of stuff out there of the things I would wear” (Liam Gallagher 2009) and I can confirm that Liam Gallagher has FAR from sold himself out. Id even go as far to say that lovable Mancunian scamp has actually managed to pull it off in some style… phew!

Now, if I’m honest I always saw anything either of the Gallagher brothers putting their hand to going down very well in the UK, but I had no idea how well Pretty Green would go down on a global scale. Having first only been available to buy online, limited edition designs were selling out within hours. Personally I have always admired Gallagher’s style. Even now at the ripe old age of 37, he remains trendy throughout the seasons but is also fully aware of what looks good and what looks not so good on the middle aged man and he has incorporated this into Pretty Green perfectly. Naturally (and very wisely) sticking to what he does best, classic British clothing mixed with subtle prints and mod-like accessories, I see Pretty Green appealing to ALL age ranges and becoming a real name within its market.

The Labels

Pretty Green has been divided into 2 labels, the black and the green. This is how Pretty Green themselves describe each collection…

The Green Label

“Pretty Green’s Green Label collection for Spring/Summer ‘10 is a casual collection that reflects Liam’s progressive design influence while it’s classic and relaxed styling makes it appealing to men of all ages. In line with Pretty Green’s commitment to British heritage, high quality design and classic materials, combined with the collection’s high demand styles in new vibrant colour ways across lightweight jackets, shirts and tees, the Green Label collection represents a cool, classic and British signature look. The Green collection also sees the much awaited release of the Pretty Green Desert Boot in collaboration with Clarks Originals.”

The Black Label

“Pretty Green’s Black Label collection for Spring/Summer ‘10 takes its influences from the rock, mod and love styles of the halcyon summers of the 1960’s. Each piece of the Pretty Green Black Label collection is based on classic British styling embodying Liam’s individualistic style, vision and exceptional attention to detail as well as his love of superior quality fabrics and cool contemporary design. The inclusion of iconic pieces, from the sharply tailored boating blazer to the timeless parka and paisley print tees, ensure the perfect combination of styles for the most discerning menswear buyer and any summer occasion
